About this site
AGEnergySolutions.org is an independent consumer guide. We help homeowners understand the utility rules that affect backup power: whether a utility accepts meter collar transfer switches, what it takes to get a bigger gas meter for a standby generator, and what utility programs exist for people who rely on CPAP, oxygen and other medical equipment.
We are not a utility, a government agency or an equipment manufacturer, and we are not affiliated with any of them or with previous owners of this domain.
How we research
- We read each utility's published service requirements, tariffs and program pages, and state regulator rules.
- Every utility page links to the sources we used and shows the date we last checked them.
- When a utility does not publish a rule, we say so instead of guessing.
- We re-check every utility page at least every quarter.
How we make money
We may earn a referral fee when we connect a homeowner with an installer through our quote form, and we may earn a commission from some product links. This never changes what we report about a utility's rules.
